Oh #InternationalLesbianDay, let’s all come together with our Tegan and Sara albums and head down to Superdry for their winter collection. Only kidding, they don’t have anything we don’t own already.
In honour of #InternationalLesbianDay, we thought there is no better way to celebrate the occasion than a list of our favourite lesbian women. Because, of course, we all want to be like them, right? Oh, just me… Okay then.
Whether out and proud and supporting the LGBT community all the way, or simply representing lesbians on our TV screens worldwide, here are our favourites in appreciation of #InternationalLesbianDay.
In no particular order, let’s see who makes the #InternationalLesbianDay shortlist…
When she isn’t giving incredible gifts to the likes of Lena Dunham on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, Ellen continues to make us wonder: how is she so stunning for her age? But of course, we can’t reveal it, women don’t do that.
You may recognise her from the X Factor all that time ago, but Lucy Spraggan is well and truly doing it – incredibly, we must say – all on her own. Not only has her strongly committed fanbase got her back at every turn, but her engagement and entire relationship with Georgie gives us all sorts of ‘relationship goals’ – Yes, we went there. Oh, and who doesn’t want to see photos of Steve constantly on her Instagram?
After coming out during a speech she gave at an event in 2014, Ellen Page has become even more of a heartthrob for lesbian and bisexual women everywhere. Is it getting hot in here? Or is that just me?
Oh Lip Service, how we miss you so. Ruta Gedmintas – aka Frankie – was a true favourite for her badass attitude in the BBC Three show, and we haven’t stopped missing her since.
We’re going all out with the TV favourites now, with The L Word’s Shane – Kate Moennig – easily making it into our favourite list of lesbians for #InternationalLesbianDay. Setting the trend for hairstyles everywhere, much like Ruby Rose, Kate has made a hell of a lot of women think could I be…
Er, do we even need to say anything?
The YouTube sensation, in a nutshell, is amazing. But we just can’t leave it at that… Harto is an author, a comedian and an actress. Is there anything she can’t do? She won us over long ago.
We all remember Sugar Rush, right? Olivia played the lead character, Kim, and made us all remember what it was like to be a gay teen questioning ourselves.
