Carly Rae Jepsen Emotion Review

Review // Carly Rae Jepsen ‘Emotion’

After her inescapable ‘Call Me Maybe‘ drilled itself into our brains in 2012, we all have to admit we never thought we’d hear from Carly Rae Jepsen again. However, the 29 year old has surprised us all, with her new album ‘Emotion‘ – set for release in just two days’ time (18th September).

Frighteningly enough, ‘Emotion‘ is full of relatable love and heartbreak, co-written with a stream of trendy collaborators such as Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and Dev Hynes. You may have already heard the lead single from the album, cheesily named – ‘I Really Like You’ – and are preparing to blare it out on your way to work with that special Friday feeling, so you’ll quickly fall in love with the rest Carly Rae Jepsen has to offer.

The rest of ‘Emotion‘ offers just as infectious tracks, including ‘All That‘ and ‘Warm Blood‘, but you’ll have to take a listen for yourself to really feel like you’ve been drenched in glitchy beats and that spark of modern pop.

Record label:  Schoolboy/Interscope
