After being tipped to be the next big thing, we caught Palms And Pelicans at The Joiners to see what all the fuss was about…
As the first date on their headline tour, Palms And Pelicans’ show at The Joiners was the perfect venue to set the pace for the rest of their headline tour. Kicking their set off with ‘Sungaze’, Palms And Pelicans warmed the crowd up slowly but surely. With them they brought a storm of energy that quickly reflected on the audience in front of them, an incredible start to their tour.
As my first time catching the New Forest band, I already had high expectations after they’ve been tipped to be the next big thing. And I must admit, I’m not often a fan of female vocalists, but in this case I will eat my words, as Mattea didn’t put a note out of place. The vocals were perfect, entwining like silk and complementing one another. The four-piece were clearly enjoying every moment, interacting with the audience and delivering an outstanding performance that echoed professionalism and passion.
The Joiners was filled with energy from start to finish, and with their set over relatively quickly it was obvious the crowd were eager to hear more. Nevertheless, as they finished on ‘Comfortable’, it was clear why Palms and Pelicans have quickly been picked up in the media as the next act to look out for.
